A Dream Village

Dhruba Giri had a dream at age 14: to build a school for his community in Nepal. A chance encounter with traveling Westerners led to a donation that helped him begin.

Twenty years later, Dhruba now runs an eco-resort that supports a range of community initiatives—from land rights and organic farming for women to elephant rehabilitation and local business development.

He also built his dream school—and today, his daughter is a student there.
